They are actually pretty good, the only problem i have seen is that the bracket moves a tiny bit, rocking the plastic that it is connect to. Im a little scared if i hit something with the antenna that it will brake off the bracket where it is connected.
SWR is the Signal to Wave Ratio. It is the power that is reflected back to the CB from your antenna. Anything over 2:1 and your going to cook the finals fast.
Is that when you take a watt meter and measure forward (output) and reflected power by switching the direction of the plug in the meter? This is what we used to do on police radios and no more than 10% was the goal.
I had the same problem but what I did was attached a small piece of felt to the side that touches the gate a little then bent the bracket just enough so that the gate WILL hit it when it closes. It seems to put enough pressure on it to keep it from moving... as for breakage, I assure you that these will not break. I have one on each side with 3 ft. fiberglass k40's... people slow down for my truck daily, thinking that I am with the PD around here. Thank God I have a bunch of cop/sheriff buddies.
Take care and if any of you need any more, I just had some more come in. Enjoy!
