I was looking on ebay and came across a anti rattle kit,as my exp has a rattle on start up i bought one.on receiveing the kit i find that it only contains what i would discribe as a cut down fresh water fishing float, has any body fitted these things ?

i bought the revised tensioner bolts from ford as i have a intermittant diesel sound which i thought was tensioners but after almost 2 years its got no worse and still hasnt gone away which leaves me to believe its a sticky tappet or exhaust valve anyhow it had the oil restrictor [float] included ,i never fitted it .its supposed to restrict oil flow to the sump to keep tensioners oiled up more.if yours is rattling id buy the revised tension bolts from fords to see if it makes a difference (they have a half inch extension above the hex head incase your unsure) .failing that its off to a specialist to replace the worn parts im afraid ,have a search for posts on the subject and it should have part codes that you need

Hi,

They are a genuine item and it can make a difference. Most people fit them along with an updated tensioner as well.
