Okay this is my first post so hello everyone. I'm having trouble starting my Explorer. Before I get in I have to either push the unlock button on the remote or put the code in on the door to get it to chirp once. If I forget to do that (like today) the fuel pump will not prime and my truck won't start. Right now it is stuck at work. It seems if I disconnect the batery and let it set, then reconnect the battery a few hours later it will start. This is really annoying as I seem to get stuck at the worst times. I'm going on vacation soon and I don't want to get stuck 400 miles from home. Is there anyway to disconnct the stupid thing or what. Please help me!!!!

welcome,
could it maybe be a relay or something, that doesnt engage correctly, im not familiar with anti theft electronics at all, or how in depth they go, but its just a thought

I don't think the factory systems "chirp," it could be something aftermarket connected to the factory stuff.

OK, I didn't know because mine doesn't have it.

A family member had an old Ford with the RKE but it didn't; then again I never knew if that was by design or just something broken.

Factory systems don't chirp, they honk the horn, if it chirps then it's aftermarket, all 3 of my trucks do that (1 2nd gen, 2 3rd gens)
