I need new tires for the 2004 Mounty and the stock 17" rims suffer badly from face corrosion - clearcoat failed.
So - thinking about using my 20 x 8.5" Momo Vantage wheels from the Ranger and mounting 285/50/R20 Toyo Open Country Tires. I tired my Ranger wheels with the 305/50R20 Toyo Open Country's, but that is when I realized the offset issue. The Momo's are +29mm offset where as the 17" OE wheels are +44mm offset. When I turned the wheel, the tires rub against the back side of the splash shield. A bummer, as they looked COOL stuffed in there.
Now, as the tires will be ~$950 mounted/balanced, I want to make sure I will not see any significant issues running the -15mm offset compared to OE. I am affraid with the AWD, that I will wear out the tires quicker.
Anyone have experience with that?
