Anybody have the part number for the fuel sender float?

The float in my '96 Ranger is flooded and doesn't float so the gas gauge always reads empty. I called two of my local dealers and they say it doesn't exist, I have to buy a $400 fuel pump. Two others say they have it but are over an hour and a half away and won't give me the part number. I'm sure my nearby dealers have it since it's a common item but I need the part number to check.

Last I checked Ford only sold the fuel pump as an assembly.

You can PM forum member FORDSVTPARTS who is a Ford dealer, and they will not only let you know if they can get it, they will sell it to you at 10% over cost.

If dealer price are still too much, I've seen them aftermarket.

Have you tried Advance Auto Parts or NAPA
