Anyone DIY a bug guard?

Just curious. I know they are less then 75 bucks, but I was considering trying to make one.

Thoughts? Experience?

Seriously though, using what, something like fiberglass? I'd doubt you could make one cheaper than buying it. But there's more pride in doing something yourself. Be the pioneer.
