The stock "chrome" ones... I am getting ready to switch over to my black Rock-crawlers and I want to reuse my center caps like I did with the Tail-gunners. I'm thinking a fine grit sandpaper and a spray black paint will work best... any thoughts or ideas?

Anyone ever paint there center-caps?

Why not just leave the chrome? They would look good on the black R/C's.

A lot of police cars around here are like that (black wheels with chrome caps). They're not rock crawlers, and the caps aren't explorer/ranger caps, but it's the same general idea. Doesn't look bad, IMO, and I think the black caps might look a little goofy.

i've been thinking of doing the same thing with my r/c's. i think i'm gonna try the black rim/chrome cap thing for and if i don't like it, i'll paint the caps...keep m posted on whether y'all figure out how to paint them. actually, there's a thread on here somewhere detailing how to remove the chrome off plastic parts. lets see here...
