I have this small dent on the liftgate of my truck and I've seen the same dent on three other explorers since I got mine. It's about fist sized in the metal just to the left of the black molding above the license plate area. The Ford guy says he's never seen this before (imagine that), but the guy at Dent Wizzard says he has seen if a few times. Said he sees it a lot on minivans, but has seen it on a few explorers as well. It looks to be caused by shutting the liftgate and the momentum makes the dent after the gate closes. The Dent Wizzard guy said there isn't much bracing back there at all. Makes sense because the area where the dent is seems like thicker metal, but I really don't know. Mine did this while closing the gate. I had my hand just about on the Ford emblem in that black molding to give the door the final push, and when it closed, the dent popped in. I am about to try and get in touch with Ford, not the dealerships here to get this fixed. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem. I'll try to post a picture if needed.
