Paul, did I read correctly that your front is locked now too? If so what did you use?

MillerTime's X isn't the biggest out there. I believe AuburnFan (followed by some numbers I can't remember) has the largest X as he was running 3" spacers (which aren't made anymore due to wear problems) and a 3" body lift.

Yeah I know there are some EX's bigger than me, but mostly the old school guys with RB lifts. Macknos had the largest tires with 35's. There's a bunch of us running 285's now. Looks like Paul took the biggest step re-gearing and locking his rig. My re-gear is coming soon with 4.56 Yukons.

That would be the original poster....

I plan on getting new tires this month and they will probably be 35x12.50's

Its looking like wayyy wayyyyy too much work to do 37's

Well this Ex isnt mine but I think its probably one of the largest out there... Ran across this in a local for sale classifieds. The ad says 35" tires and a 6" lift (appears to be all suspension lift and no BL) but definately looks like the owner could go larger on this. (this pic was posted in the 3rd gen pics)

If you look closely at the rear area, it looks like 35"s are probably as big as he would want go with with running boards and fenders in their current positions.
But if it's dual solids, then adding more lift to fit 37"s wouldn't be hard. One could also just hack up the fenders and ditch the running boards.
Personally, I like that Ex just as it is. Only things that could be better would be custom bumpers, sliders and I'd prefer a different body color and then black steelies.

Long time follower of site but actual first post so hey yall. Has anyone other than Macknos had success running 35's? Still stock running 265's but my goal is 35's with 18 or 20" rockstars for those of you who know what those wheels are (going for the murdered/blacked out look).

I contacted the seller tonight asked "Hey I am pretty interested in this explorer. Do you have maintenance logs? Also what kind of suspension lift is installed and how bad was it abused?"

I got the following response....

"No maintenance logs but its been done regulary. The lift is a straight axle front and rear. Theres not a lift for it so i used solid axles. It has never seen the off road."
