Yes, it sounds too good to be true, but not really.

Hi, I'm Nick, I've been here a while (and still have and drive my customized Ex regularly) - I work for a company that sells headlights, tail lights, bull bars, step bars, intakes and a variety of other auto and light truck accessories.

I'm looking for TRUCKS and SUVs specifically, make and model doesn't really matter as long as the truck isn't beat up.

I'm the videographer over here, and what I do is make How-To installation videos, demonstrating how to install the products we sell.

Here's where you come in.

Are you anywhere near Industry, CA in the greater LA county area?

Can you make your truck available for 4-6 hours, those hours preferrably being sometime during the week, between 7am and 7:30 pm? Great.

What will happen? Well, we pull it into the warehouse, you can watch if you want in the new lounge area we've built, we install the step bars or bull bar or grille guard or whatever (and leave them installed if you like) to produce the how-to video, then when we're done shooting, you can be on your merry way with your choice of $50 or a free set of whatever the product we're fitting is (depends on product). Discounts on other products we have that you may want also apply.

Either way, you get your vehicle back in just the same condition as you brought it in.

Interested? Shoot me a photo of what you've got along with these important specifics:
Year, Make, Model, and what variant of the truck/SUV it is - whether it is a king cab, super cab, quad cab, extrahumongoborgelariat does make a difference on things like step bars.

I'm currently making a spreadsheet of what cars we have available when so that we can schedule more cars in for test-fit.

My MSN is itsnitronick@live.com - and also my email.

Hope to hear back from you guys!~

I could use some step bars. I'm in Huntington Beach.

Thanks for following up, I've got you down on the spreadsheet for now. We're planning to be bringing a lot of cars in for this sort of thing.

Without saying in writing who I work for (in writing, anyways due to company policy, I'm not allowed to say it), here's an example of the exact type of video we need your vehicle to help us make:

There's a lot of variance in trucks for step bars - wheelbase having everything to do with it, we're looking to get at least one of every weirdo quadrodeluxextendedmegacab variant out there in to both a) confirm everything fits and b) make a how-to video demonstrating how to install it and how the brackets all are supposed to go... etc.

Thanks for chiming in guys, and we need lots of trucks, and so this will be an ongoing opportunity!

I'm always reachable on MSN during business hours to chat, as well.

MODS: I'm not selling anything, nor does the company retail directly to the public anymore. I just need more vehicles for test-fit/video production and figured you guys might like free stuff. :]

..Ok...I had to start getting a list together and depending on what you mean by...

as long as the truck isn't beat up.

If you are needing trucks for various "How To" videos on various accessories, here is my wish list..:D

..I could use various size LED Light Bars for either or both truck(s), Gutterless light mounts w/ HID lights, Rotopax (or other) gas/water/tool cans, Hi-Lifts, Pre Runner front rear bumpers, spare tire carriers (for the Ranger), lumber/surfboard/kayak Rack for shell, Power Inverters, or whatever else you can think of..:D

I'd be in for a set of step bars:thumbsup: I'm not exactly close by but I could make my truck available if chosen.

Truck specs are:

2007.5
GMC Sierra 2500HD
Crew Cab w/6.5' bed
2WD

I know beggars can't be choosers but if I had a choice I'd prefer the running board style steps over a tubular style...just throwing that out there. In any case, i'd still be interested in what you guys had in mind.

Don't really have any suggestions I'm guess you not giving out power running boards:D

Would love to do some TV headrest, or overhead TV though. Already have the DVD head unit in it set up for it installed in the Explorer.

By not beat up, I mean... it looks like a beater. Your Ranger, on the other hand, doesn't look like a beater. Yours still looks like it has care put into it- like, my Explorer's not perfect, but it still can look good for a picture, if you know what I mean. Like.... no huuuuuge dents and oxidation patches - I shot this one Durango that was really dirty and the whole darn thing looked like it had icing all over it, the clearcoat was peeling so bad, it was hard to make the video look presentable, haha. Make sense?

Also, not a bad idea because we just started offering the LED light bars and I'm not sure how many people (even here) know we have the little 7" self-contained HID off-road lights available.

Everything I've seen here looks just fine for what we're looking to do :]

Thanks for volunteering, I'll be in touch with you guys as we get this schedule for cars put together - they're talking about ramping up to shooting 3-5 vehicles weekly starting in the next few weeks.

Bump; this is gonna be an ongoing opportunity since there's a lot of variance in truck models and management wants us to be bringing in <5 vehicles a week to shoot.

I've got a 2000 XLT that could be a good test bed for some stuff. I would love a power inverter, LED lighting, HID...you know pretty much anything useful.

Most recent picture, she cleans up a quite a bit better then that.

LED is about the only thing we're playing around really heavily at the moment though IIRC I think we recently introduced some sort of headlight for Gen II Exes.

Also, where'd you shoot that pic? Looks like the sort of place I built my Ex to go but haven't yet taken it (fire roads etc and the Azusa and Gorman OHV areas)

FROADER was nice enough to swing by today to help us out by lending us his 2005 F-150 FX-4 Supercrew to demo installation for a set of 4" Oval Tube stainless polished finish step bars and test-fit a prototype set of headlights for us too.

Thanks again for stopping by; hope to see more EF friends in the future, but we're very much on the lookout for Chevy and GMC trucks as well.

It was my pleasure to come in and let you give me free stuff! :)

It didn't take long at all. Unfortunately they didn't have black in stock, but I guess you can't be too picky when you're getting step bars for free! The quality, fit and finish is there in this product. My wife thanks you too, for the fact she can get in it easier now.

Just finished the install.

Those look sharp!

Did you stop and pick up Ultra Flat Black on the way home? LOL J/K:D

We would LOVE to have a 91-95 F-150 or Bronco come by tomorrow; email roger@spyderauto.com if you can come down. I won't be in tomorrow (friday 5/18/2012) but that's when we need the Bronco or F-150.

Froggmann's got first dibs but whoever can make it down to City of Industry where we're located, the company will pay you $50 in cash for your time and letting us test-fit a prototype product (prototypes we can't give away and most are so rough, trust me, you don't want a proto).

Thanks again, EF!
