hahahahaha I get over 25 MPG on the highway in my 88 BII. I have a 93 OHV engine, a custom built A4LD tranny, 4.10 gears with 31" tires, synthetics throughout, full intake and exhaust mods, and I am still running the engine driven fan.
I agree, the single best mod you can make to improve gas mileage is to run an electric fan.
Also the engine must be in perfect tune, and kept that way. plugs, filters, clean intake, TB, IAC, etc
Air pressure in the tires is VERY important, so is the proper adjustment of the E brake cable, the right gears for your tire size, and driving like there is an egg between your foot and the gas pedal is the way to go.
I drive my truck like I stole it and I get GREAT mileage.
I can usually get 550+ miles from a tank, BII's have 23 gallon tanks, and I have yet to run out of gas.........
