After fitting some new catalyic converters to the car, i inspected underneath and saw that the rear shocks were in a terrible state, i also notice that since adding some HUSKY load assister's to the rear springs i haven't heard the compressor running or had the ARC light come on.

Assuming that the rear shocks are in as bad condition as they look, what is the best way to remove the ARC system without getting a light thrown up, what shocks would you recommend replacing with. As looking on rockauto the price of the OEM type air shocks with shipping is horrendous.

As long as it handles OK with the shocks that are on, just switch the system off on the switch. If the light annoys you, take out the bulb.
I got the genuine Motorcraft ones off Rock auto because I like mine to self level when towing.

I didnt know you could get any other shocks for the ARC system apart from the Monroe 40006/7.

What part numbers were the ones you got, id ideally like to keep the system if i can get the part prices down.

Rockauto had both the monroe ones you have listed, and genuine Motorcraft. I ordered the Motorcraft ones which were about £30 more, each, thinking they would be better quality.
The boxes they came in had all Motorcraft stickers and part numbers on them. The instuctions that came with the shocks that were in the sealed boxes were headed with Monroe Info and their part numbers!!
So go for the Monroe make and save your money.

Just looked at Rockauto and they only have a rear right Motorcraft available.
If you google for a discount code you will get 5% off.
With postage and import duty the pair of Monroe's will cost you £163.22

Excellent, that's great thanks
