2004 ford explorer
Ok so i have an issue i have a 2004 ford explorer 4.0l v6, i have been looking for a cold air filter for it du to i plan on doing some work on it and would like my engine to hae a little more breathing power besides breathing through that stock straw of an air system. I have gone as far as calling k&n to see if their 2004 sportrac 4.0l v6 kit would fit my explorer seeing as it is the same engine which it is but apparently it has a different throttle body set-up. Also judging by the pictures online of under the hood for sure look different for where the cold air intakes would sit,but also is there a kit made by a manufacturer that would fit my 4.0l that would be made fot the 4.6l? Im currently deployed in the middle east and im on r&r buying a couple aftermarket things for my truck while im over here but i have hit a snag...i would appreciate the advice
thanks

Not sure about whether or not they sell them or not. I am in the process of making one for the 03 if my wife will let it sit long enough. I have made them for 3 different trucks in the past using 3" schd 40 pvc pipe and 3" k&N CONE AIR FILTERS. When ever I can finally get it together I will try to post pics of it.

Thanks for your service to our great country.

There is no one complete kit. The closest is the KKM kit but it still uses the stock tube from the MAF to the TB.
