With the 700-R4, the overall length ruened out 1/2 inch under stock. My front driveshaft barely fit to begin with because the high pinion d44 is also longer than the d35. Now the front driveshaft is 3 inches too long. Time to order new driveshafts w/ 1350 u-joints all arround. I already have 1350 yoke for both the d44 and the 8.8. The plan now is to get the front driveshaft made up, take it down in 2wd, front, and have the pros install the 8.8 yoke. It has a crush sleeve where the d44 doesn't. Then I'll measure out the rear and have it made.

I'll post some pics of the Atlas behind the 700 later today.

Pics from the rear

From the front

Yes, that is a 1350 u-joint. I had to grind the t-case yoke a little to prevent binding as the angle is pretty steep. A CV would probably better suited for there, but I saw Rick blow a 1 ton CV and don't want to even try.

Linkage Nightmare

There is about an 1/8 of an inch clearance between the tranny linkage and the rear Atlas linkage(red arrow). Took me a full day to figure this one out.

So even though I only have a front driveshaft right now, I had to test out the low range. In first gear @ 5000 rpm, the speedo didn't even register a speed. And an added bonus, I was able to stop with it in gear. I was worried that the low range would overpower the brakes.
