I have been wondering why the last place that I could get 0W30 Mobil 1 isn't stocking it anymore....

This is quoted from a email from Mobil:

"Mobil1 0W30 motor oil is no longer being produced
for the general public"

wonder why?

Hmmm...if you want more of it, we've got a bit of it left at the parts store I work at. I'd be happy to pick it up for you, all it'd cost you is the retail price + shipping. PM me if you'd like...

After a few emails with Mobil, it sounds like the demand for it wasn't there and the need for the speciality weights are beginning to be more popular i.e. 5W20

Its because of their new Extended Drain Interval synthetic Mobil 1 oil.

Yep, almost every new Ford calls for 5w-20.

Except for 4.0 SOHC engines. If you guys really want 0w30, Motorcraft has a synthetic 0w30.

So does Amsoil.

To the best of my knowledge 0w30 is mainly for diesel engines in cold climates. I've yet to see anyone using it in a gas engine, but I'm sure I'm about to!

I use it in my Explorer.

I knew that was gonna happen!!!

I use it in both my Explorer and Mounty and my wife's Jeep.

It definatly has an advantage here when temps drop to below zero

wow... temps below 0..... i have never seen a temp below 29*

I would use 0-30w if it didnt have such a high concentration of polymers. Polymers tend to break down first and deposit themselves in your motor. :(

10-30 for me in this warm CA sun.
