I just bought a 2006 Ford Explorer. The previous owner replaced the audio system with one I don't like. I want to put a Factory unit back in, but I want it to have the capability to have an auxilliary jack like my 2008 Mustang had. They also disconnected the wiring to the steering controls. There are so many models out there we don't know which one will work the best. I know it won't run into the console like the mustang but just want to hook my IPod and Satellite radio up.
Thanks!

i doubt you'll be able to use the steering controls with any aftermarket stereo, but in turn with a factory radio you wont have an ipod port. And believe me even if you don't like the system in it now, you'll like a factory system much much less. id still go aftermarket but maybe try to find something a little more tuned to your liking.

A lot of aftermarket head units can allow using the steering wheel controls with an adapter.

My Alpine unit will work with steering wheel controls. It just takes the adapter
