Audio Upgrades

My plan once BestBuy reopens their audio install dept. is to replace the stock speakers. As I can't afford a driver, I will start at the front and work towards the back as funds allow.

Rear speakers, unless you have backseat passengers, are kind of a waste. Everyone spends the money on the front speakers, and skimps only the rears. Since they are so much further away, and have a worse soundstage, they’d actually have to be quite a bit louder to be heard evenly with the fronts.

I’d much rather spend twice as much on front components, and skip the rears.

Our Bestbuy is crackerjack when it comes to speaker installs. I much prefer BB to Car toys. The install tech has been with this store going on 10 yrs. He loves the ST. To him, the ST is what all the others aspire to be.

Also, has anyone looked at the F-150 forums? Isn't the B&O system on the high-end trucks?

Yes they do. Check out Five Star Car Stereo on YouTube or do a YouTube search for Raptor Audison. They do a full install soup to nuts, love their vids. Check them out. Will do a full upgrade on my stereo some time this summer. Will keep you all posted.

Car toys told me the other day that they can't do anything with the new sync 3 B&O system. I say bs. So........ will wait till Best buy opens their install centers

That is total BS, I personally spoke with Dean (Installer) from Five Star Car Stereo and we are in the early stages of designing a system for my ST. Trust me if he can't do it then it can't be done. Watch their vids on YouTube, you need the Audio interface called NavTV Zen A2B...it plugs into the factory system providing preamp outputs for your aftermarket amp(s). It also has a Toslink input/output if you decide to go with a DSP. Again, watch their vids and let me know what you think.
