Anyone seen these yet? I saw their ad in Petersen's, and checked out their website. I'm in the market for a lunchbox locker, and these sound interesting. All models are $199 for an introductory price. They don't list the 8.8, so I sent them an email about it. They say it should be available in 3-4 weeks.
Please read the tech info on their site, and tell me what you think of them compared to Lockrights, etc.

Whats the link to the site? or the addy www.?.com

so they made one for our IFS front before the 8.8? and for only $200! hmmm.. i just bought a no-slip so i can't test this one in the rear. i may have waited for this had i known. oh well!

I would LOVE to hear anything that anybody has to say about these!! My plan was to go selectable from the get-go, but to be able to get both ends for about $400..........that is hard to beat!

I sent an e-mail to them asking about tire size limitations to the warranty. I think some other products like this have limits up to 31". I wouldn't want anything that wasn't warrantied up to 35" at least.

Looks and sounds like the lock rite. I bet the founders of aussie lockers, one who appears to be a designer of the original lock rite, are manufacturing something the same or similar to the lock rite. The design may be off patent, or they have a liscense agreement. They list EST office hours and a 585 area code- I dont know where that is? FLA?

Lock rites are 275 or so and these are 200 so decent savings if they are close to the sam in durability.

I got a responce to the e-mail, NO tire size limits. The e-mail was actualy pretty friendly and prompt. So customer service is probably pretty good. That is a major bonus. I might just have to try one in the front :)

Yeah, they answered my email within a few hours.

The founders of this company are the ones that helped invent the lock right. The lock right is only good till 31" of tire and these guys claim 35's are "no problem". I think it will be more reliable and stronger than the lock right.

Anyone going to buy one? We need a review. :)

Has anyone found anymore pics of it? Parts wise, does it look just like a Lock Right? Looks the same as the Lock Right and the No Slip from the outside, are the claims of having less parts, a comparison to Lock Rights?

The lock right is only good till 31" of tire
Is this what they say or is this from your experince?

LOL. They have one for the Aerostar!

if i had seen this a week ago.. i would have waited for the 8.8 and bought it and bought the front one too. i just ordered a no-slip though. oh well..

Lock right says the warranty only goes up to 31" Any larger tires void the warranty, and put to much strain on the locker. I have not seen any blow up but talk to anyone into rock crawling and they advise against one.

I'll probably try one of these "Aussie Lockers" in the front because I'm out of money and this is cheap. They are also going to warranty it no matter what for 2 years.
In 2 years I will have the money for the Detroit anyway.

Aussie Locker Information

I just wanted to answer a couple of questions that had been raised here.

The Aussie Locker is manufactured in Australia and some of our engineers are Australian. We have extensively tested our products in the outback of Australia and they have proven to be very reliable. A lot of testing was done on vehicles with large tires and so far our test results do not show any undue stress on the locker.

The product has patents pending on some key design areas and has more subtle differences to the competitors products that have resulted in smoother operation and excellent reliability.

Torq-Masters is the exclusive distributor for the Americas and we are located in Rochester, NY.

Thanks for the questions and if you have any more just drop us a note.

wow.. is it for a true locker or limit slip? just in time cause i am getting 31's for the truck in a week. $111 per tire for BFG KO ar Sam's. 200 bucks for a locker at the rear would be perfect for my 2wd. heheh. keep us informed. would love it...better then 400 or 500 or those cheapo locker.

Thanks for coming on the board to respond, Aussielocker!
I'm in for one for my 8.8, if I can get it by the Fourth of July.:D

Ford 8.8 Availability

Bill,

4th of July should be ok for delivery. We will have the Ford 9" and the 8.8" through engineering next and the broaches (long lead items) should be here in a couple of weeks. Please keep an eye on our web site in the "SHOP" section and as soon as we have the Ford products in production we will add them to the list.

Thanks for your interest in the Aussie Locker.

Bill

AussieLocker,

How is the backlash with your locker? To use comparables, is it more like a Lock-Right or more like a No-Slip? How audible is the chirping?

And Welcome to the Site!:D I might be interested in a 8.8/D30 combo.......Sell Me On It!:D
