I have a 98 Ford Explorer 4x4 4L RHD, I dropped the transmission pan to do a fluid change, the bolts came undone by only giving them a little torque. The Haynes manual gives the torque for these pan bolts as 100Lbs, surely that will strip threads or snap bolts at this level of torque. Does anyone have official Ford figures or torque settings from another manual.

Thanks

James

James, see the other post.
The correct torque on those bolts should
be about 10 FOOT LBS.

(Or about 100-120 INCH LBS.)
