Should they be hot? I just drove maybe 5 miles to get gas and pick up my girlfriend and I needed air in a tire. I knelt down, and grabbed onto the auto hub for support, and it almost burned my hand. The truck is in 2wd. Should I be concerned?

Usually hot hubs are either a wheel bearing problem (maybe adjusted too tight) or a brake problem (maybe dragging caliper). I'd probably start by inspecting those two things.

I'm gonna do both wheel bearings this summer. The hubs did get stuck in 4wd before. Is that something I should worry about?

Guess I'll be the first to suggest you go ahead and invest in manual hubs. Are the bearings bad? If so, you should go ahead and do it now
