Auto Lock Feature

I bought a '99 XLT about a month ago. I have now gotten it cleaned up enough where I can drive it. It was so nasty that I did not even want to sit on the seats.
It had the famous drivers door lock not working problem.
I did not get the owners manual so my question is

How do I disable the auto lock feature, if it is even an option?

I have a '02 F150 and it is an option to disable this feature. I used the owners manual to get the steps to do this.

The autolock feature can be disabled a couple different ways. A quick search found this:
