I have a 2012 Explorer.

Is it possible to program the door locks so they ONLY unlock the back doors? I drive Uber and it's a pain to have to unlock the whole vehicle and re-lock the front seats to force the passengers to sit in the rear.

The closest I've seen is the workaround to disable auto-locking.

There’s no way to do it with programming. You could always wire in a switch to defeat the unlocking ability of the passenger door.

Can anyone check their lock menu to see if you’re having the same issue with autounlock disabled? I’d hate to have to take it to the dealership to resolve this… no luck through search or owners manual

Unfortunately, I don't have an Explorer to check out. Has it always been this way or is it a recent issue? After you've driven, turned the ignition OFF, and opened the driver's door, do the other doors unlock at the same time?

Can you verify what you mean by Autounlock is not selectable?
In your picture, it shows up right under Autolock, but it not checked.
Are you not able to scroll up to Autounlock and hit OK on the left steering wheel control?

Thanks for the reply! I did not notice it until I had someone in the back seat and they couldn’t exit when the front doors were open. Also afterwards I noticed the issue when I would exit and had to press unlock to open the rear doors.. child lock is disabled

Thanks for the reply!!! Autounlock is greyed out and cannot be selected.. I have even checked out other options that may interfere with this function but haven’t had any luck… the only key fob programming option o found is switching unlock from fob from driver doors to all doors

Have you tried a Master Reset? Chances are you may lose some saved settings. You could also try disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few minutes before reconnecting but again, you will likely lose some saved settings. No guaranty that this will fix the issue. Otherwise, a trip to the dealer may have to be made.

I have disconnected the battery with no luck. Can you tell me about the master reset? I’ve done a sync reset but if there’s another way I’d love to give it a shot. Thanks!

I think the battery disconnect would have accomplished the same as a Master Reset. Doing a Master Reset will restore factory defaults and erases all personal settings and personal data. See page 469 of the manual.

You are correct. Unfortunately it does nothing to the “car” settings, mostly just the media stuff. I am going to go the dealership route and it’ll be done. I believe that the scanners especially for ford vehicles are pretty powerful.. thanks for your help!
