Auto tranny replacement

Just wondering....does anyone know if the the newer auto tranny, 5R55-E (5sp auto with the 4.0L SOHV engine) will bolt up to the older OHV 4.0L engine and BW transfer case? This would be a great swap instead of a rebuild if it will fit. The A4LD and the 5R55-E are the same base transmission, C3 right? Overall length should be the same, but what about input shaft, bellhousing pattern, etc? Any tranny specialists out there?

I think coming up with a tranny contoler since its controled by a computer instead of vacum modulated would be the hardest part along with all the involved wiring.

i know most of the prerunner trucks with the 4.0 run a C-4 tranny. More than likely they dont have to deal with the transfer case though. I'm searching for the C-4 kit.. I hate my tranny.
