I posted this on this thread:

"2004 Limited 6 disc in dash changer and MP3s?"

But thought I'd put it out here for all to see to see if anyone knows the answer. Thanks.

I have a 2004 Explorer XLT, w/Sport pkg., that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I have the same audio system (Audiophile 6 disc, 290 watts, etc.) I have not tried to play any MP3 CDs, but was wondering if you (or anyone) know if there is an auxiliary input in the back of the unit, i.e. either 1/8" stereo plug or stereo RCA plugs. This would allow plugging in an MP3 player via a stereo cable. I have the Dell Digital Jukebox and right now, I'm using an FM transmitter to play the unit through the system, which is kind of a pain. There is "AUX" under the CD button on the unit, so I'm thinking there may be some inputs on the back. I called Ford 2 days ago and haven't heard back.

Thanks

I couldnt tell you but these people could
http://www.pie.net/contact.htm
they know everything about changing the aux input on your factory radio to usable rca plugs.
I used this http://www.pie.net/aux_appl_ford.htm#ford on my 2001 6-cd radio with no problems.
Explorer 1998-2003 FRDN-AUX 868
20-Pin connector at headunit.
Note: 2003 (6-disc in-dash) model radios are NOT CD changer capable.

Si...,

Great! That was exactly what I was looking for, but couldn't find anything initially with my searches. Did you install the interface yourself?

Thanks,

Mike

yes it just plugs right into the back and has a passthrough for the current connector plugged in there.
i dont know if it will work with your 2004 radio, you will have to contact them.
