Is the engine in an Explorer? You state you have a 1971 F100.

no it is going in my f100 but i am using the explorer computer engine and trany

I would skip the letter cam and spend the exrtra money for a custom ground cam given the application.

A couple of members here have used a letter cam and like them but they were designed for Mustangs which weigh probably 1/2 of what your F100 does.

What heads are you using? I ask this as to what header choices you will have.

stock gt40 heads out of a 96 the truck only 3700 pounds

The stock manifold suck big time, You need to get some headers for it. You'll need something to fit the gt-40 head. A custom ground cam, or any other cam for that matter is probably better than a ford letter cam.

what about maf sensor and throttle body summit dose not have them for the explorer 5.0 if i get headers made for myb truck with a 302 they will work right
