Fun! Fun! Fun!

This trip was not good for my therapy...I was a recovering " Wheeler " I had been succesfully off the trails for 13 months. Now that is all ruined!

Short version... "I'm Back! "

Can't wait to wheel in my truck. I am going to have my truck finished by the shop that installed Scott's LT1. I need to drive in the next event. Thanks Micheal for offering, but I was afeared ( Okie Term ) of twisting metal, I feel better showing you how to do it yourself.

Thanks everyone for a great weekend. Now, to get some sleep....

kris, you got some nice pics of your ride, geralds, and whoever has that red 1st gen 4 door :) looks like fun.

I took some more Pictures I am going to be scanning them in later tonight.

Tbomb, that Red Explorer is Michael's Explorer. and Just Wait till you see some pictures that Gerald got.

Hey Trckmagik, The wal-mart would not develop the File in the Camera you dropped in the water. I will take it to another place to see if I can get it developed. You (Dina) got some Good Pictures.

Now I need to go take the Seats out of my Truck!!!!

Kris,
I just hope you remembered to tell everyont HI for us.
Sounds like you had a great group going.

GOFAST!
Glad to hear you are back in spirit at least. I hope you have no excuse to not attend Moab next year.

By the way what's up with all the water and sand? Were are the ROCKS????
Can't call it four wheeling without having to worry about a rock crushing in your rocker or tire. LOL

Just glad you Texans get a chance to come out this way once in a while and get away from that flat land

Trust me Perry there are a lot of Rocks out the Slabs. You just have Sand and Water between them. Plus that sand is fun. Wait till you see Geralds Pictures... :D

Moab! Yes, please.

Perry, Yes I'll be there. Mine will be done! The guy I rode with had a really nice late model LT1 installed in his j**p. The shop that did the work is going to finish mine out. The did a great job on his even though there wasn't a kit for the late model LT1's , lots of custom stuff. He's already talked to them and they are very interested in doing mine since they are "Ford" guys.

So yes, I'll be there. Plus I have a cool tow vehicle now. 7.3 liter Turbo Diesel Excursion! 10.9 mpg towing at 85 mph.

Just wait till you see the pics of Mikey " I'll try anything " driving his big red monster AKA "Red Bull" over the rocks.

Gerald was also upto his " I can do that " tatics. Brian's "SPOR TRAC" did very, very well. I was impressed. Alec was a very good sport and did very well for a 2wd truck. He had a good posi. Kris was just smooth.. Great looking truck, hard to believe it used to be a 2wd. And Sinjin...Wow, what a differance a year makes. Great trail lead, kept the capability of the rest of us in mind. Often found him sitting on the next obstical waiting on us to finish playing. His driving confidance has greatly increased since CCR2000. I guess sinking it a flipping helps?

Again Great weekend, maybe next time Randle will have his ride there too.

Hehehe...

Riddle:
What do you get when you mix Michael's driving with Gofast's spotting?

You get this:

And this:

And a bunch of ideas on what to do about it:

LOL!

Seriously, it was a great time. I had more than WAAG damage. Here's a pic taken about three seconds before I majorly relocated both my grillguard and also my front bumper. I just finished spending all afternoon removing them and "making them fit back on" again. It took a lot of work with a grinder, welder, and a five pound bumper adjusting tool ;) Appoach angle trail testing in action:

Looks who's spotting again  :D

Here's a few more photos including a group shot, one of Scott's (Gofast's friend) LT1 J**p, and one of Trckmagik.

Yes Perry, there are a lot of rocks out there.

Unfortunately I do not believe I had my digital camera's exposure set correctly since all of the pictures came out too dark. Oh well, I'm an amateur.

What a great start to my Herc Tour. It was great to see everyone and the weather for the campout couldn't have been better. Thanks for the invite guys! :bounce:

PS. Just one more parting shot of Michael's driving before I go :D

looks like a lot of fun, i like the pic of the water you guys were going through

Yes it looked like you guys had a great time.

Michael,
Your pictures on three wheels are great except for the tow strap.

Like I said I just hope we will see you all again at Moab. Looks like everyone is getting in some good practice on there four wheeling.

This was by far the most sucesful assault on the Slabs that the Texas crew has made. It was the perfect combination of great weather, good friends (both old and new), and awsome wheeling. I am continually impressed with what a 2wd truck can do. I commend Brian and Alec on their ability to build an extremely capable truck that just happens to not have a front diff.

Perry: The strap was actually a VERY necessary thing. When ever we tried to move the truck forward from that point all it wanted to do was layover on the rock. We ended up winching the front end down, and then it drove right out.

Thanks Gerald and Kris for hosting the pictures for us.

And a special note to Rob: next time you can go first, but I'll be right behind you!

Hey I really like that picture of all the guys puling on the Tow strap and Gerald sitting on the hood.

Here are a Few Extra Pictures:

That looks like you had a blast! I sure would like to get out there sometime :D

This run was by far the best Texas run we have had! Thanks to everyone for all your help out there! I was really impressed w/ my Sport Trac out on the rock! We will have to do another run soon! More pics More pics.

That is the "Love Boat" and belongs to Sinjin. The topper camper is removed right now.

This was defenitely one of the funnest runs I have ever been on. Great weather, great friends and great wheeling. Thanks for the invite, if you guys ever need a trail leader for the Slabs again, I'll be there!

Hey guys, Dina (my girlfriend) just emailed me something that she wanted me to post for her.
From Dina:
"Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that I had a blast out at the
Slabs this weekend. Besides my near death experiences..hehe..from what
I know and saw it seemed to be a very successful trip. My boy Brian
(Trckmagik) I believe impressed a number of people with the Sport Trac
this weekend....new found respect I think so....I can truly see why you
all put so much into your vehicles now, what a sport! Gotta do this
again...Dina"

Seriously though, it was a blast, a fun time was had by all. I'll post my pics when I get home this evening. Sorry, I won't have anything quite as good as Gerald's shot of Michael.

Kris, make sure I get a copy of the pic of the Dodge for my dad. He'll freak.

Rick, we've been trying to talk into coming to Texas for a few years now, what gives? ;)
