In case anyone is interested.. I use MotionX-GPS app (IOS only) on my Iphone..

I did just see that it has a live update feature.. Maybe I'll try with that when we are out there.. It'll show where we are.. of course, the cell coverage isn't the best, especially when in the canyons/ditches

My GPS recently died, so I lost ten + years of waypoints.

MotionX will let me share Waypoints and tracks (email)... I can also use Itunes and download/copy the .kmz file to my computer... You can also upload .kmz files into the app.

I went with this app years ago since it let me pre-download maps back when Google maps wouldn't. I typically turn off the cell phone radio when wheeling to help conserve power.

2nd try...

Rick's got wood. Which is good because my wood pile is a little small.

OK, this post is not sounding right at all.

Edit: what I meant to say was....Its good Rick has a big pile of wood because my wood stash is not the usual 1/2 cord or so. There was slim pickings this summer.

Has a large pile of wood here, just need to figure out how to get some there. (Could have said my wood pile is bigger than yours!) But I don't like to brag.

You people and your free wood. I usually buy 1/8th cord of wood (fill the back of the X) on my way out.... I used to stop in Brawly but I think I'll grab it from Tucson again this time.

Weather looks to be Sunny, low 90's in the day and about 70* at night. No "R" and No "W"

Hopefully the Box Canyon Rd. will be open by then. I just happened to check it today, and it's closed due to the latest storm :(

Which road is Box Canyon Road? The only one I know by name is Marine

If you are coming in from Airzona the short cut is Box Cyn Rd

Which road is Box Canyon Road? The only one I know by name is Marine

It's the 2 lane road between I-10 (Joshua tree exit) and Mecca. That way people taking I-10 from Az don't have do go all the way to Indio...
