Back to Truck Haven October 24 - 25

Having a great time out here. Yesterday afternoon's trip was great. Did some cool notches up the wash towards the Calcite Mine trail.

Great pics Rick...good to see everyone again. It was nice to get out and wheel again and also relax at camp. Hope to make the next outing:thumbsup:

Where are everyone else's pics?

I did make it back.. Made good time (7.5 hours) , even with the extra stops since I was somewhat tired from 3 days of wheeling...

I haven't unloaded the X from the trailer yet.. Too much stuff needed to be done that I pushed off while I got ready for the trip....

It was a great weekend of wheeling though.. 2 Good night runs with surprisingly very little carnage, especially since I played basketball with a rock under my X while leading a night run.

The Day runs were great too... Even with my driving the bumper into the ground while dropping into that sinkhole. Of course, DB1 made a few of those obstacles look stupid easy.. That Rig is just insane..

Here are the pics I have.. Some are mine, some I took from Mike's phone (The jeep guy)...

Over by the waterfall there was this rock ledge that I came down. It looked like nothing special and all was going nice and slow/smooth and then BAM. The front of the truck dropped and I shove the bumper right into the ground. It was a hard it, it tripped the inertia fuel shutoff switch. I was able to drive forward once I reset the inertia switch and then this and the next shot were taken. You can see the hole that my front left tire dropped into. You can also see the bumper was shoved back 3"-4" and added a pre-runner flare to the fender

Here is the video I got of DB1 making easy work of that side route on the North Side of the water fall. That's the spot that had that Rubicon Jeep on 2 wheels..

Great pics:chug: Glad to hear that you made good time on the way home.

I am still working on a upload issue. When its resolved, I will post my pictures.

Edit: resolved, thanks Rick

I'm glad that sinkhole didn't swallow you up

Nice pics Brian:chug:

Rick, that camera of yours takes incredible pictures.

I had a great time on this run. I pushed the Explorer harder than ever, and it took it. I usually end up leading at Truckhaven since its my home turf, and led every run but the Friday night run (thanks Mark for a great run). There is a little pressure to deliver with some tuff trails when leading all of these big dogs around, and after the last couple of trails, I felt I pulled it off. Thanks to everyone for making this run a good time. Thanks for drinking my cooler nearly dry, now I can refill my garage fridge.

I did a post run inspection and the only real damage I can find is the bumper/fender. I do need to expand the hole in the beam since the axle is still hitting/rubbing. I couldn't find what body panel buckled or any new dents over all the old stuff..

I even used the X to pull a trailer to the dump to get rid of a bunch of crap. The X did just fine... Unlike the Van...

I heard a Ping when I moved the Car hauler with the X on it (had to move it around to get the X unloaded). Now I have a fast scrape/screech sound at a speed higher than the wheels and not motor related... I think I blew out a U-joint.. At least it did it here and now while towing home...

You can see how far the bumper moved back (and up) and it pushed the fender back some too..

Hey Maniak, what is The color of your explorer or color code. I have a parts explorer that may be the same color. I will give you the fender at TH in January if you want. PM me if you want and I will give you my cell. Have a good one.

I think the bumper held up well considering it had about 2/3 of the vehicle weight on it.

When's the next run? I want to take Stic-O down into that last canyon we went through Saturday.

I dunno, he might have the easiest time.. he'd just put the tires on the walls (both sides) and drive right down.. :)

Those were some really nice, tight, frame twisting canyons... I liked that area....
