2000 Ford Explorer
Hey guys!

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer, V8. I have recently run into an issue. On an incline, it will jerk from time to time and backfire when you push the gas. When you put your foot all the way into it, the check engine light begins to flash on an off. When you let your foot off the gas it stops. Anyone out there have any suggestions as to what is going on?

Before you do anything serious change the passenger side spark plugs.
On my 1998 V8 the EGR seems to put the hot gas into the center two cylinders on the passenger side and it starts by running rough at about 1200 rpm uphill and get worse from there.

Pop the fender liner out and the plugs are right there. Use "Good" plugs because cheapies last a lot shorter time.

I have been using Autolite platinums if i remember correctly.
