I have a 95XLT 4x4, when ideling or driving through our subdivision no problems at all. But when I get out on the main raod of get above 35mph it starts to vibrate and gets worse if I let off the gas. Nothing at all like a tire out of balance, it feels like gears are not working together as they should. The vibration also seems to have a hum. The vibration starts at 35mph and continues as fast as I can drive, but I have not got above 60mph and it still is vibrating and get a littlle worse if I let off the gas, if I push the gas a little more the vibration will get a little eaiser but will NOT go away until I get back below say 30mph or so. Thanks for your help with this problem...

Check your U-joints and driveshaft maybe??? I am a first generation owner so i don't know do those things have CV joints?. Check those.. Is it a shake or a vibration?. With the hum it sounds like it could also be a wheel bearing. Good luck..

Hi, i assume u have a manual shift? I would start with the basic checks. try gettin it up to normal speed and shift to nuetral, (manual or auto trans). this is a good way to check for bearing noise. If the noise is still present while coasting, I would lean toward a bearing. If the noise stops while coasting, you prob. got a driveline prob. I just had to replace my rear end. Mine would roar when i gave it gas, but stopped when i let off gas, putting torque on the driveline should make the noise greater. If it passes the coast test, prob. a trans (manual) or a rear differential prob.. hope this helps...good luck ;)

Oops, by the way could allso be in the drive shaft....it would give more vibration than noise....

It is an automatic transmission (4R55E). I will check all the above this afternoon. Thanks for the help...

sounds like drive shaft or transmission related and possibly CV joint

Have you checked the fluid levels in you T/F case and tranny?
