Banging noise underneath Help!!

I have this banging sound w/ a jerk coming from underneath my 1997 explorer. It happens when going uphill or any incline. I have had my front differential replaced and it still makes this banging sound. The mechanics are puzzled. They have been in business over 40yrs and cannot figure it out. Does anyone have any suggestions? The mechanics checked all the usual stuff like transmission, cv joints, etc.

Check your transfer case.
