Base xl passenger seat

Hi I am new to this forum and recently bought a 2013 explorer xl. I didn't realize the passenger seat was much lower than the drivers seat after adjusting the power driver seat for best position. When you become the passenger you really notice just how much lower you are sitting. Has anyone else noticed this? Has anyone else come up with a solution . I have seen seat risers on the Internet but haven't found any for the explorer.

In the 2+ years I've been on this forum I don't recall this ever being brought up. Is there no manual height adjustment on the passenger seat?

I don't think so. There is no reference to one in the manual. I test drove an XLT with these seats. My 5ft 4in passenger complained that she was sitting really low in relation to the dash.

I didn't find any reference to it either but thought perhaps there might be an adjustment anyway. I guess we need a booster seat for passengers. I can recall my mother having to use a small pillow in a Chevy II we used to have.

If I had noticed the low passenger seat, I would not have purchased the xlt with out the power passenger seat.

It anyone has a solution, it would be very welcomed.

It is about 2 inches too low.

Hi everyone . Thanks for replying. I watched the ford owner videos at ford.com and they show a drivers non powered seat with vertical adjustments I wonder if they might have one for the passenger or the drivers one could be used somehow on the passengers side. I think on the 2013 xlt the passenger's seat is power now.

This is correct, Cap-12; there's a power-adjustable passenger seat on the 2013 Sport as well. As far as options for different seating for your passenger, I recommend contacting the parts department of your local dealership; they'll be able to fill you in on some possibilities.
