Battery Light On!! Why??!!

1989 Ford Ranger XLT
I have a new battery(two days old)
new terminals with clean wire running to them
freshley rebuilt altinator
new sylenoid beside the battery.
Please help

I don't have schematics for a 91, but I recall from some other threads that there may be a fuse blown that supplies the field current for the alternator. If that fuse is blown, you won't get charging from the alternator even though the alternator is good. Check fuses.

Also, when you say clean wires, do you mean that you replaced the battery cables? Corroded battery cables is a common issue with the older trucks with the corrosion hidden by the insulation on the cables.
 






no not new cables just cleaned on both ends the gauge shows that the altanator is putting out a charge I checked all fuses nothing is blown..??
 






I would check the resistance of the battery cables, both the positive and negative. It seems to be really common on the first gens (91-94) to have bad battery cables..

It could be that your replacement alternator is bad, it has happened to me before on another car and other people here also have had problems with rebuilt alternators..
