Hi, I have a 2000 Explorer Ltd and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a reasonably priced battery as mine no longer holds a charge due to winter.

Thanks!

Best deal I found recently was Wally world for my 2000 Sport. If I recall they were $70 to $100 less than the big name p[arts stores.

This is about as controversial as oil

For me, I get something with a good warranty. Not sure what the warranty on a Wally World battery is, could be good

The best LA batteries are HEAVY. That’s where manufacturers can skimp and save money—fewer/thinner lead plates.

I wasn't looking for controversy, I swear! Just trying to save some money because I need to put it into the transmission.

costco interstate. great warranty

costco interstate. great warranty
2nd vote for Costco. I had a battery poop out one month shy and they just replaced it with a brand new on. They dropped their warranty period from 42 months to 36 months but it’s still a pretty good value. Shows $109.99.

That requires a Costco membership though, right?

If you can get a Costco member to buy you a Costco Shop Card (gift card), you don’t have to be a member to shop to use it, but you might have issues returning items…

Ive been using wally world batts (deep cycle 1000cca) for a while with no probs in my plow truck. Been below 1 volt twice (key left on...). That was over 2 years ago, and just had to replace this winter...I will get another soon to swap the spare back out. Pretty good for the price.

yep had one 3 years it was sort of weak wasnt dead though but wasnt great brought it back expecting to pay for another no questions asked they replaced. now thats not to say get a replacement every 3 years, dont abuse that, but it was hands down great experience  much easier than haggling with odyssey before

or be friends with someone who either works there or has a membership ;)

Costco or Walmart (everstart maxx) are the best values. They both dropped their warranties to shorter periods a few years back but I still get about 6 years with a severe (very short trip) driving cycle. Which manufacturer you get from either can depend on the region.

I use standard walmart max ones
