Bed extender

Hi,

Just found the forum and registered. I have an '08 Sport Trac and would like to purchase the bed extender. I have seen quite a few used ones in various places, but wasn't sure if they would fit my Sport Trac. Will an extender from the previous generation, 2001-'05, fit my Sport Trac? Would be great if they did as they are readily available and pretty cheap. If not I guess it is back to the dealership. Thanks for any help you can give.

The older ones won't fit, the width is different. You would need an '07-'09 bed extender.

If you buy a used one make sure to get the pivot posts.
I bought one from someone who had totaled his Sport Trac.
Most dealers told me I had to buy a new extender to get the posts. Finally one dealer found the code to order it.

Check out Ebay or Craigslist, I must have seen about 5 for sale over the last month or so.
