I have been looking for shocks for my truck for some time now online. My 2002 has coil over shocks. The shocks have a seat built into ir for the spring. I have found lots of places that spec shock for my truck listing the wrong kind of shock. I have already returned shocks specified for my truck to autozone. My question is if these shocks that look like normal shocks with no spring seat. THe other problem is that actual pictures of the shock are not always available.Do I need to buy a some kind of spring seat that goes over the shock to make normal shocks fit with the spring? I asked Ford service guys and all they can do is try to sell me some oem shocks for like 100 bucks each ( no help).
Below is what my shock and spring setup looks like.

That's what I thought, but in my manual lists it as a shock absorber coil spring assembly. Its also uses different ones for the front and rear, but both have sprin g seats on them.

Thanks for the bump.

I am assuming you mean the lower spring seat is not attached to the "shocks" you have been buying? Try a Monroe #931321 (front) and Monroe #931322 (Rear) It looks like what you need.
