I have a 95 explorer 4.0 with a bad tranny
I have 95 tranny 3.0
Transmissions them self seem the same
Can i swap the bell housings and if so is there
anything I should look out for.

Thx

If it is a mazda tranny you cant cause the bell housing is intergrated into the case. However if you rebuild the one in the explorer you might wanyt to look into using parts out of the 3.0 tranny to get a lower first gear. Not sure on the secifics but you might find something about this on the rangerstation.

no its 4R44E for 3.0

and 4R55E for 4.0

I believe the 44 and 55
designate 4cyl and 6 cyl engines.

The bolt pattern on the 3.0 and 4.0 are different so unless they each have removeable bell housing you are screwed. Dont know much about Autos other then I dont like them :D
