Big Rims/Aggressive tires

I hate to say this in public, but I'm kind of a fan of the bigger rims with (what look to be) aggressive mud tires on them. Mostly, I've seen them on H2's and such. I think for a street truck that will never see the trail, it's a good look.

1) What do you guys think?
2) Has it been done on an explorer before?

I'm considering doing something like this, but only doing 18's--I think 20's would be way too large. My plan for the suspension is Spindles & axle flip.

3) would a BL be necessary?

Like I said, this is only an idea, and I kindof like the look. I expect there are folks who hate it and I expect a fair bit of flames, but I like the honesty on this board and I value your opinions.

Thanks!

I dont like that rim in particular, but with the right combination of rim and tire, I think that look is pretty cool.

yeah, I'm not a fan of that rim either, but it was the first image of the idea that I came across.

not a fan of that rim either but i love big wheels and tires.. alot of ppl around here have 22s and 40s and stuff.. the perfect setup for me would be some 20s and 35s

i have seen some of the hummers out fitted that way and you have to be careful in the selection of rims to make them look good

Thanks for the heads up Froader! I like the look and I think I'll like it more on my Sport.

Would a gear change or body lift be necessary for the 35s?
