I'm getting my 3" body lift and bolting on shackles and doing the TT. My original plan was to put BFGoodrich KO's (33x12.50 R15)::D what is this I hear about spacing? Must I space? By the way is there anything else I would need to know or have before doing all that?, minus the knowledge :)

You'll want to get new 15x8 rims with 3.75" backspacing. The tires will fit much better and perform better.

Also going to that large of a tire you may want to look into changing your differential gearing to offset the size/weight change.

And you'll need to get a new speedo gear to calibrate your speedo and odo.

But you could have found all this out by searching, I just felt like being nice ;)

rims

:rolleyes:Uhm...I have 15x8 rims? Is there something different between a set of stock rims and aftermaret? Will they rub if i don't space? Anyone know?:(

Stock rims are 15x7, 4.5" backspacing;

Best is 15x8 with 3.75" backspacing.

The stock rims will work, but IMO you'll be much better off with the new ones.

also, u will have to remember the MPG will suck big time, regular joints will wear faster... and the worst part of all, u will be addicted...i.e. your wallet will shrink faster that u sneeze. :)
have fun.

stress?

i heard that backspacing that much would eat up my bearings. It would be like putting datens on. A lot of stress....is that true? or should I just put on some 32x11.50's?

Going from 4.5 to 3.75 BS won't hurt anything.

adapter

Is there any kind of adapter or some kind of mod I can do or buy to do that with the stock rims? How would you take some of the backspace away without new rims?

If you're gonna use stock rims it's better to do so without spacers.

Remember, besides backspacing you're also dealing with a difference in rim width.

You can find new rims for $35 each. That's just as cheap as spacers.

i'm running 15x7 stockers on 33x12.5's it's not that bad, although it's just temporary. Like Alec and others have said, a 15x8 would be the best bet, but a 15x7 certainly won't "hurt" anything.

Except tire life, possibly ride, and more risk of popping a bead.

ride's not too bad, the PSI is only around 29 to help it wear evenly, but you're right, a bead could become a concern. like i said it's only temporary......

im doing the same exact lift as u, next week actually, im gunna go with 15x8 and 32x11.5 so that i do not have to do any fender trimming. im so glad i have hoof ups with american eagle wheels, otherwise i wouldnt want to get new rims either. peace

Where can you find larger rims at that price? I'm also going to be putting 32" tires on my '93 EB with 3" Bodylift and I'm a bit worried about rubbing or any other problems. Btw, I'm pretty new here and I've found almost all of your posts to be very helpful, thanks :)

15x8 RockCrawlers from 4 Wheel Parts.

I run a 32x10.50 on my stock 16x7 rim (with 4.25 BS) and my sway bars have been rubbed to a shine by the inside of my tires.

I don't know how people can fit a 32x11.50 or 33x12.50 on stock rims and still be able to turn smoothly
