black chrome... anyone know anything about it?

I have seen "black chrome" wheels on cars and other parts. I have seen a few Mercedes and Lexus cars with the emblems done this way. I think the PROPER way is electroplating, like gold plated emblems. So I don't want to hear about tint sprays, paint, etc...I want it to be permanent.

Anyone know anything about this process and how it's done? Cost?

I want to do every piece of chrome on my truck in "black chrome." Grille, emblems, door handles, mirrors, even the fake bolts and rivets on my wheels and center caps. Maybe even get some chrome door pillars and do them in black chrome.

Here is a black chrome wheel for an idea of what I mean...

Most of my chrome is PLASTIC, so don't think powder coating would work, the baking process would probably melt the plastic. Plus that would require removal and shipping of all the parts, which would get expensive to KS.

i was just saying he might know something about it,like different ways to do it and how you could do it yourself
