Hi guys,

While changing my plugs, wires and heater control valve on my 1996 explorer OHV V-6 I noticed a black cube, about 3/4in square with a brown wire coming out of it and going into the wiring harness for the coil pack.

The wire is broken , so I unplugged it. But I have no clue what it is for. It sits mounted by a rivit, just below the coil pack and heater control valve.

So what is it and what will I mess up by unplugging it ?

Many Thanks.

If the wire is broken, and the truck runs OK then there should be nothing to worry about. I'll go out and look at mine in the morning to see what it is.

I suspect it's a radio frequency noise suppressor (capacitor).

But don't quote me...:)

I Never thought of that.

Many Thanks, for the Info.
