Help, I attempted the "nail" repair method listed here on the forum to no avail. I did the repair, and I am not any better off now. I only get a clicking sound from the actuator now. When I was attempting the repair, I could only rotate the broken "half" shaft about 20 degrees, and from watching the actuator move, it has a range of about 90 degrees. Could the broken piece be jaming the door and not let it move the entire range? This is so frustrating!

I want to give a great thanks to whoever came up with the fix, I just hate that this has to happen to so many of us. :(

Though this is a good idea, it is temporary at best. Super glue or cyanoacrylate (CA) is a bonding agent that becomes brittle as it hardens. The older it gets the more brittle it becomes, eventually loosing its bond. It will work for a little while, but under the stress applied to the bond in your application, I'd give it 8 months to a year before it breaks again. For a more permanent solution you could try to epoxy the parts back together.
