So heres the deal, i have a 4.0 OHV out of a 1995 ford explorer that i planned on swapping into my BII after i found the 4r44e to put in with it. When the time came i planned on doing a complete swap including dash, HVAC, all wiring harnesses (including body harness minus speakers and electric windows and locks, and the complete wiring harness from the engine bay including headlights and all.) rear axle, transfer case, etc. basically everything but the body. Am even using the seats and center council. It was going to make the job easier to just put it all into the BII.

Well heres the problem, i blew a head gasket in my BII tonight driving back to oshkosh, wi, and i need it running, its my only vehicle. So the question is...

What is it going to take to put just the engine and engine wiring harness into the BII? is this going to be possible or does this engine require the wiring under the dash for the engine to run?

Any help ASAP would be appreciated.

Oh and thank god for elite status. Well worth it for this post alone if my problem gets solved. Thanks in advance.

All I can say for now is your going to need the engine harness swapped with that 95 4.0
It is a ******* year, it is both OBD1 & OBD2. Or OBD1.5 if you will. The computer should go with as well as the ECM for that trans.

If you can find a manual M5OD-R1 to use instead of the 4R44E you will be glad you did.

Keep bumping this thread, I am sure more will chime in with some more specifics for you.

I have EVERY wire that was in the 95 explorer that i got the 4.0 out of.

I know the engine will mount up to my current transmission. At this point in time im concerned with just the engine, i have all thewires for the engine and computer. Im just wondering since it is that darn obd 1.5 if i need to put the dash in now or not. So i can utilize the connections under it.

OR if someone on here has a fuel pump from a 90 BII i think i might be able to solve my problems.

BUMP

oh and im sick of manual, want automatic. i drive it way too much to constantly be shifting.

Wow will that be helpfull, now the only other one i need is the same thing for teh big white plug under the dash that connects to the body wiring harness. Ie: speakers, rear lights, dome lights, power windows, etc,.

I need to know what ones of these wires are which so i can eliminate the ones i dont want to use.

Any help there ?
