Oddly enough, my system was working great, but after iOS v6.1.2 or something else that changed - it will no longer connect to bluetooth. After deleting, power cycling both devices, it will not add it back. "SYNC" never appears on my phone and when I select "find other devices" on the screen it works, but it never seems to successfully pair. The device name is not SYNC, but some cryptic name.
