After spending countless hours away from EF and on RCGroups Forum, it started to make sense, so I had no other option but to build one for myself. :D

Attached is a pic of the basic airframe. It now has a fuselage and brushless motor. Still waiting on radio tx, rx and servos. However I ripped out the RC reciever off my RC car and powered up the motor. Put it down on the floor and after a few tests, hit full throttle. It darted 10 ft across the room at about 20 mph before hitting a wall. :burnout:  (don't worry, no damage done)

Absolutely *****in!!! CANT WAIT TO SEE IT SOAR. Did you follow the plans to a T?
Used that superfoam stuff?

Jefe, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I saw these a couple of months ago, I thought that I HAD to build one at some point. It is the best of all the R/C worlds!

Any help you can give would be MUCH appreciated from my end! :D

Me follow the plans?? LOL

I downloaded Prop-er's Autocad plans from RCGroups and started modifying. Rudders will now make it to the water for low speed turns. Adjusted the other control surfaces as others suggested, checked and double checked my math, and then made it 15% bigger. :D As is, it looks like my ready-to-run weight will be about 10.5-11 oz with 13+ oz of thrust. I've got enough foam to build two more (or one with spare parts :o ) I used Depron foam in 6mm and 3mm varieties, some carbon fiber spars and a lot of glue and patience.

I also have a 'Trainer' plane which I built last night so I have something easier to fly, so I can learn how to fly. I have also spent countless hours on the free flying model simulator FMS.

Can't wait to see it at T-haven :D

My radio gear finally arrived friday. Put it all in to my two planes friday night and went flying yesterday. (pic)

The Hydro went first since I could play with it without leaving solid ground. This thing cooks :burnout: I skimmed around on the ground for a few minutes before getting daring. I started playing with elevator to see if it would hop. It took a bit of playing to get the right amount of down elevator followed by up elevator to get it off the ground, and when it did it went vertical. Pulled out of it and got it flying level but was shocked and disoriented and slammed it straight on into a brick wall. :( It was still mostly operational, but had opened up a previous 'wound'. (don't mount a motor that gets hot with low-temp hot glue :o ) I took it for another spin and got it off the ground again, but came back down too hard and that finished it off for the day by ripping off the motor mount. (pic) Total time ~ 5 min, flight time 20 sec

The Park Shark got a good dozen flights in, and about 20 mins of flight time. A couple of them were cut short by a few trees. Only one stuck though. (pic) Also had a problem with a sticking rudder so it would go into a downward spiral. It survivied all the unplanned landings except the last where it landed tail first and even then it just broke a control horn.

Both are now fixed, charged up, and have some improvements so if the weather is good tommorrow we'll see if I can't keep them in one piece for a while longer. :D
I should really find someone to take some action shots.
