bogging and rough idle help!!!

i thought i read that the second generation had the returnless system?aka...my 2000 should have a returnless system??
i havent had the stalling or bucking since the tripple digit days have been gone .
although i did get a cyl 4 misfire and i had to replace that plug.
shes running good again now .knock on wood....lol

does autozone read your fuel pressure for free??just wondering.

since the heat wave has passed i have ran my fuel right down to empty without an issue.
it doesnt take long to reach empty, believe me..lol

they went to returnless in 99 the fuel rail looks similar but the back port is all filled in, i just had to convert one in my ex

I purchased the MotorCraft fuel pump today. I did not want to got with the Airtex and they couldn't get any other pumps for a 1999 Sport that was made in the USA. They only had them for the Mexico made models. Any thoughts or input about this?

*UPDATE*
So the summer is almost over here and it has been a SKORCHER! I replaced the fuel pump with some input from this site (removing the seat and cutting a hole through the floor boards = LOTS of saved time) I have made a few long trips in the heat this summer that I would have not done last summer. The fuel pump replacement seemed to have fixed the curse. I have had no issues since with the bogging and rough idle. Even starts better now!

ok ,i think i got it .when i went back out i heard the telltale howl in the airbox .so i went messing with the aic again .eventually taking the black plastic cap off it .
that seemed to help .i now have full power again .so i guess a aic valve is in the near future .

on another note i put my drivers window down and couldnt get it back up ....dam truck ....i need some window viagra.

one thing after another lately.everythings breaking at once .hard keeping up with all the repairs lately.

i will update as i go .hopefully it runs good tomorrow.

I know how that goes, just a few weeks after I got my X from my parents the control arms and ball joints went, so did the MAF, idler pulley, left leaf spring, radio display, overhead console(found a really cheap and easy fix though), and I had to deal with the 5 year old tranny fluid. It all failed over a few months but it does add up. I've got the same engine you do.

truck still going strong .haven't put much into it as of late .early in the year i did have to replace the trans(lost reverse) that was an expensive fix(used trans 350.00 from a towing service ,install 500.00).
turns out the used trans slips sometimes in drive .happens every time i try to save money .
oh well .....still love that ex sport .it was a good near 7 year run with just oil changes and tires and brakes ,but now i have put alot of money in it ...about 3k in a years time .surely more than the value of the truck .
but its still cheaper to keep her than to buy a new one .
