Boomin's getting a sex change *PICS*

Haha guy well here we go. This weekend I will take the last pics of the truck lowered. I have decided that it is the best for me to lift my truck for 2 reasons. 1 is that it will slow me down some hopefully and 2 is that noone really has done what I am doing to a mountaineer. What my plans are:

Suspention:
-3'' lift spindles
-3'' TT by flipping and rotating the adjuster w/stock bolts
-SOA in rear possibly with shackles

Body:
-3'' body
-3'' Fiberglass fenders

Tires:
-15x10 wheels
-35x12.50 Mt's

I will be posting pics of the progress. This monday/tuesday I am doing the TT and SOA with monoleafs.

Gears man, gears. Anything less than 4:56 and you will be miserable. Me personally, id go with 4:88's with a 35.
 






It won't slow you down.. I got nailed earlier today for going 83 MPH on I-95. Damn stupid troopers and there speed traps. Atleast he wrote me a repair order to check my speedometer out. (Told him my speedometer said 70 MPH) Now I just have to get the repair order signed off and take it to court.

James: I will go at least 4:56's if not 4:88. How the hell do you get a crosss pin in for 4:88's I had a helll of a time doing it for some 4:56's, I could only immagine how much a pain in the ass 4:88's would be.

That i do not know... im a 9" kinda guy. :p PM trckmagik, he had 5:13's in his 8.8.

Hell you have a 302.. It takes me a good bit of time to get up to 80 MPH.. You'll be fine probably.. Just do a reverse throttle cable mod.

When i used 4.56 Motive gear i didnt have to do any modification to the ring gear to fit the cross pin (on the truetrac)

i noticed that tip of the ring gear on the toe side was already kind of leveled off from Motive's factory. Maybe all gears are made like that (i dunno) but i took it as they were trying to make things easier for me :D

yeah like what Blee said ^^ the 302 would push the tires without a gear change. unless you need the low RPM range
 






yeah. I'll still probibly go 4:56's. I gotta rip the diffy apart anyway since i need to rebuild my l/s BAD and thanks to Stic-o I got parts to do so :) I have experiance installing 4:56's (GooseR's truck) and I just notched the crosspin and it worked but 4:88's or 5:12's would be interesting
 






you'd might end up grinding the inside edge of one of the teeth to get it in, plus notching the cross pin
 






The shop I had mine done at said they had to shave or notch (can't remember exactly which) the cross pin. What do you have in mind for a tire/wheel package?
 






Now all you need is a transfercase! Welcome!
I have a couple of 5.0L AWD cases, driveshafrs, etc if you need one! hahahaha

He just got rid of AWD lol :D

Can't wait to see it finished. Keep it slow and the rubber side down! :cool:

It would be quite ironic if he went back to 4/AWD after recently converting to 2WD. :p

Not AWD though, think 4r70w with either:
Atlas
BW 1354
or Dana 20 custom
 






Hes not going to go awd or 4wd, already talked to him bout it, also if he did than he couldnt use lift spindles for the front...
