brake cleaner/ paint can storage.

Cans on a shelf take forever to dig through get knocked over etc and are in general a problem. I came up with this bracket. Screw to a flat surface and then use 1/2" emt for the shelves. I got a 10' stick for $1.84 at Home Depot a few days ago. This is version 1. Version 2 coming soon with changes that allow shorter cans to fit better.

EMT stands for electrical metallic tubing (another name for conduit).

In the above picture I didn't have anything yet. A cotter pin would work or even thought about just doing a quick tack weld. I ended up just running a self taper screw into the end.

Here is a quick shot of version 2. It is a bit shorter and at less of an angle. Need to pick up more emt tomorrow so I can mount them. I cut a few extra so if anyone is interested I have a few I can sell.

Get rubber or plastic plugs from the hardware store to hammer into the open holes in the pipes. It will have a more finished look at the end. Caps might work too.

You need a ceiling hanging version.

5 Brackets and three sticks of emt conduit. I think it is 43 cans if I remember right. Used an area of wall that otherwise would have been hard to store stuff on.

After reading this thread, I went out in the garage and stared at the empty space above my work bench......hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I had to spend a few minutes picking up silicone tubes and rattle cans today when I knocked them on my bare feet while looking for brake parts cleaner......hhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Once I get done with my sliders I will spray the frame with some spray paint. I would like to do a quick paint on the body as well. To bad I don't know any decent painters .

Whenever, if ever, you get around to painting metal parts on your trail rig, don't purchase any of that new Rustolium Industrial paint in the big silver cans. It is not "strong enough for the toughest industrial jobs". I have been using it on my SAS because I wanted it all PAINTED, because, well, its metal. It is flaking off at the slightest touch.

Are you spraying any primer first? That makes a big difference for the paint to stick. I like to use black primer since all my tubework is black...helps to cover better.

Matt, you've got a nice compressor now...pick up a cheap gun at Harbor Freight and go to town. What color you thinking going with?

No, because the can said it did not need primer. Usually Rustolium products are great, but not so much that stuff. Thread Hijack Over!!

I really like the idea of having paint, grease and silicon tubes, etc.., accessible like that. Makes it easy to pick out what you want to use without moving all the other stuff out of the way. If I could turn some of this mess:
