Brake pedal position switch fuse

Hello all,

I have a 2000 Explorer XLT. When you press the brake pedal it immediately blows the fuse for the brake pedal position switch. I've tried cleaning the connections on the wire harness for the switch but it does the same thing. Any suggestions on what to check?

Has it had the recall done for the cruise control activation
switch?

I suspect the switch itself is shorted internally.
