Hi,

Can someone tell me the brightest headlights you can put on a 99 explorer? my stock HL. just don't cut it. Do I have to go with projecter lenses, or can I just use bulbs (Sylvania) which ones are best. I prefer white light not blue. I recently rented an 09 Dodge Ram & could not believe the night drive with it's lights, I would really like to be able to have them on my XLT.

There aren't many halogen upgrades that will satisfy you long term. You've got to go HID if you want better light. But better light can also be bad light if you don't tweak the heck out of it in OEM or aftermarket refector housings. There are now a few projector options out there now that when combined with a HID kit are the best option by far short of retrofitting. It all depends on your budget and your tastes. I'm very happy with the projector/HID kit option.

I am pry going to try these in my 96 (pic is for image only) ...

I bought a set for my Paseo, although not installed yet.

I have them for my Frontier in 9007, they are brighter than Silverstars without a doubt. I was very impressed with them. They have no tint on the bulbs, but still manage to put out a fairly white beam of light.

I stand corrected. They're widely available in H4 and H7 in Europe, but I see that they are available in 9007 in North America now.

They seem to be the real deal.

I believe thats where I ordered them from as well, for standard wattage bulbs, they could quite possibly be the brightest before hitting higher wattage or HIDs.
